Surround yourself with knowledge. Surround yourself with UW-La Crosse.
Universal Borrowing (UB) is a
service that allows UW-L students, faculty, retired faculty and
staff to search the catalogs of all other libraries in the
University of Wisconsin System and request titles (books, multimedia) not currently
available in Murphy Library.
Materials will be delivered
directly to the circulation desk at Murphy Library within 2-4
days, or you can designate another UW library as a pick-up
point. You can also visit any other UW library and check out
their materials with your UW-L ID card. Click here to go to a UB search in the library catalog. Loan periods are: Faculty/staff: 1 semester; students: 28 days.
If you are looking for specific journal articles that aren't available in the Murphy Library databases, use interlibrary loan (ILL) instead of UB.
If you have questions about UB, contact Access Services at email@example.com.

As a pilot project, Room 12, in the library basement, has been converted to a silent
study room. Many students ask for an environment even quieter than the library’s designated quiet
areas, so this room is intended to answer that need.
For more information on this space please see our blog. We look forward to learning how this room fulfills its intended
purpose. Please let us know how it is working for you. Send feedback on this space to
To provide more computers during the busy period at the end of the semester, the library is opening
an additional room with computers. Room 30, a computer classroom in the basement of the library,
will open during regular library hours starting December 1, 2013. Students will be able to use the desktop
computers in that room individually or in groups.
